There are some songs which grow on you. This is one of them. When I first heard it, I was like.. ok.. so its another one of those types… Nothing too impressive. But, having heard it twice… I just cant get this song out of my head!!!!!
I dont know what I like the best – its offbeat music or Rashid Ali’s voice? or is it his style of singing most words incomplete. I can almost envision Javed Akhtar telling him if he were to go for Indian Idol: “Aap ki aawaz achchi hai. Bus aap shabdon ko aadha adhura chod dete hain… ”
I think thats his style – just humming most words, not really singing them. His casual way of singing is what has caught onto the imagination of the youth of today. All said and done, lets see how he manages his career from this point onwards.
Good luck Rashid.
Lyrics:
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi Me Yun Hi Koi Apna Lagta Hai
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Woh Bichad Jaaye To Ek Sapna Lagta Hai
Aise Me Koi Kaise Apne Aansuon Ko Behnay Se Roke
Aur Kaise Koi Soch de Everything’S Gonna Be Okay
Kabhi Kabhi To Lage Zindagi Me Rahi Na Khushi Aur Na Maza
Kabhi Kabhi To Lage Har Din Mushkil Aur Har Pal Ek Saza
Aise Me Koi Kaise Muskuraaye, Kaise Has De Khush Hoke
Aur Kaise Koi Soch de Everything’S Gonna Be Okay
Soch Zara Jan-E-Jaan Tujh Ko Hum Kitna Chahte Hain
Rote Hain Hum Bhi Agar Tere Aankhon Me Aansun Aate Hain
Gaana To Aata Nahi Hai Magar Phir Bhi Hum Gaate Hain
Hey Aditi Maan Kabhi-Kabhi Saare Jahan Me Andhera Hota Hai
Lekin Raat Ke Baad Hi To Savera Hota Hai
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi Me Yun Hi Koi Apna Lagta Hai
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Woh Bichar Jaye To Ek Sapna Lagta Hai
Hey Aditi Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Tu Zara
Nahi To Bas Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Muskura
Tu Khush Hai To Lage Kay Jahan Main Chaiyi Hai Khushi
Sooraj Nikle Baadalon Se Aur Bantein Zindagi
Sun To Zara Madhosh Hawa Tujhse Kehne Lagi
Ki Aditi Woh Jo Bichadte Hain Ik Na Ik Din Phir Mil Jate
Aditi Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na Phool Phir Khil Jate Hain
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi Me Yun Hi Koi Apna Lagta Hai
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Who Bichad Jaye To Ek Sapna Lagta Hai
Hey Aditi Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Tu Zara
Nahi To Bas Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Muskura
Hey Aditi Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Tu Zara
Nahi To Bas Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Muskura
Hey Aditi Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Tu Zara
Nahi To Bas Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Muskura
Hey Aditi Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Tu Zara
Nahi To Bas Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Muskura

There was a jazz number in the movie that was played for maybe thirty seconds. I was most impresesd with it. I have to find that one in the album.

I guess many AR Rahman songs are like that, we wont like it at first, then we get addicted to it.

I think it’s his voice and the upbeat music of Rehman.
I didn’t find lyrics that impressive.
Btw, glad to see you blogging once again.

Wow, and here I was thinking that it was actually Rahman who had sung that song! I was very shocked that Rahman could’ve sung something like that because usually that’s not his type. This guy, Rashid Ali, is good.
Btw, could you do one thing? Can you make the colour of the links a little darker in the CSS because it’s kinda difficult to spot them. I had done that when I was using this theme. See if you can/wanna.

I was telling everyone that music of Jaane Tu … s not as per AR Rahman Standards … That time I ignored Kabhi Kabhi Aditi … then I listened to it for few times and found it OK … By the time I listened to it for the 11th time, I loved it … and then it grew on me and for few days it remained the only song on my winamp play list … playing in infinite loop !!!
Like a typical Rahman song. … It grew on me!!

I disagree. Which word did he sing incomplete? He sung every word with fine clarity and for this type of my song, it’s quite a challenge. I agree with the style of singing though, may be the song demands it. Lovely and catchy song!

@Soham:
@Rambodoc: Oh please do let me know if you find it.
@Xylene: A very valid observation Xylene
@Reema: Let me know if it grows on u the way it grew on me
@Kanan: I think lyrics are very deep and meaningful! Thanks
@Ish: Yes he is good
Okie will do that. Thanks for the feedback Ish
@Nik: Same here
Its on my winamp too and on infinite loop
@Nishit: Okie…
@Sandeep: Let me know if u liked the movie…
@Sakhi: Most welcome dear
@Shyam: Yes it is very melodious
And who is that other person u talking about?
@Anoop: Listen carefully Anoop. He sings “Gaana to aata nahi” as “Gaan to aata nahi”. He kind of leaves out that “aa”.
Also he sings the last “muskura” with an indefinite feel to it. M not saying it looks bad. It just adds to the appeal of the song.

Then may be it’s still growing.
I still am not impressed with the English-Hindi lyrics. There was another song I liked in the film, I forget how it goes.
Just watched the movie last night. I got to watch it again to actually let some of the stuff sink in. Too much to digest. I need to find out how long it was and the end was a bit hazy or I was just getting tired and sleepy with my severe cold.

Apart from the beauty of this song, it proved lucky as well for me. It got my blog 1000+ visitors per day after I posted this lyrics on the very 1st day with English translation.
