With the advent of social networking sites and their raid in our lives, it is rude to keep fiddling with your phone on either twitter/facebook in the company of friends and family? Is it a big deal to multi-task, as in engage in conversations with people around you and at the same time keep updating your facebook status message?

First, I dont like peeping into my FB page !!! So, I am on FB, when I am alone !!! Not only FB, anything for that matter – it can even be a blog post !!!
So, when friends are around, I forget about the sites and my total attention is on them – as talking with friends in person seems to be getting so rare now a days.
I think thats a healthy approach towards social networking. It should never be a replacement of the “real” social circle you have… only an addendum!
Ohh.. this is a question for people who do it… as far as i am concerned… i dont know… i have never done that… i rarely active on social networking sites…
The one thing that the social networking sites have done is… it has made friends hanging out with each other a rarity…
I know some people who are so addicted, they will continue fiddling with the phones even when they are with you and I find that very annoying!
that is how some people are..!! you should not be annoyed by other people actions… unless its causing harm to a substantial number of people
True! But then they should not bother meeting others and wasting their time
Don’t know. I never do it. I like drowning myself in whatever I do. Which is why, I seldom post “updates” on my blog. I like to write and write and write (and bore
) when I’m posting something. And I can never do it when thr are friends or relatives around. Because, then it’s like I’m neither here nor there.
And this isn’t because i dont wanna look disinterested or because someone may think it’s rude. Simply because I dont like it
I must confess, I used to do it… though not with phones but with laptop… I have done that a couple of times and I know I was wrong… It is only now that I realise how insulting it can be for the other person!
I have heard a news that a person tweeted from an altar when he was getting married… the tweet was “Just got married
”
I think nothing can beat that one.. unless another person tweets during sex… “I am having an orgasm right now…” thats next to impossible….
Lol!!! So true man! The world is becoming weirder by the day!
I have seen people updating statuses when they are on a date. How much more gross can it get?
Reminds me of that line “Saying I love you means nothing if there are no witnesses”
That sure is gross!!
I somehow like my privacy while doing anything.. even when tweeting or reading an article.. So I don’t usually face that problem.. but I think I surely would feel bad if I am talking to someone and that person is tweeting or doing something at that time…
Yes, its so important to compartmentalize these things…
of course it is…once or twice is ok but constant fiddling with mobile is unacceptable.
