Garba

Had one of the best saturdays in Hong Kong… Woke up late, watched Dhokha in the afternoon (review coming up soon), then suddenly we decided to go to garba night here in Hong Kong! We just decided at the last minute… So arranging for a chaniya choli was pretty much out of question… the rest of the girls decided to wear Saris… Gargi and I decided against it… We wanted to go there and dance our hearts out, which would be impossible in a saree… So, we decided to go there in modern flowy skirts…

So, about 12-13 of us arrived at the venue… the Garba beats could be heard from outside and it instantly got me into the mood!!! Around 5-6 of us were extremely enthu about dance, so we set the dance floor on fire!!!

Unlike what we expected, the Garba songs being played were authentic garba songs and not just filmy garba songs… So, for over an hour the DJ played good garba songs and after that, he played some popular hindi numbers like Kajara re, Beedi, etc…. It was a nice mix and we danced our hearts out… The girls in sarees had a tough time handling their sarees, but, in the end, they managed it quite well!!😉

The food was yummmyyyyyy – Indian food with some delicious Punjabi, Gujarati and South-Indian delicacies… After months, I actually ate some great Pani puri, and Jalebi 😀
