Hmm..even my first reaction will be the same. Though my reaction more depends on the fact that who is showing the mirror. If the person is (using euphemism) with whom we are not in good terms, the first reaction might be verbal denial. Otherwise, it will be a quiet denial. Then, when you decide to look at the mirror again and see that oh..it is that way, then come justifications, why it is so. Sometimes the justifications are valid. Each life can not be measured with the same stick and everyone is different. But the worst case – your justifications are feeble and you have to accept what the mirror is saying and now you have to work on it. This is the hardest part, for me.

It all depends who is showing me the mirror. If its one of my enemies or a person whom I find really irritating, then God save him. He will get such a verbal thrashing from me that he will remember it in his grave too. 🙂
On the other hand if its my best friend/parents, then I would patiently listen to them, and if there is even an iota of sense in what they are saying, then I’ll even give it a thought.

Self esteem is everything. If someone points out a discrepancy, we should try correcting it, instead of lowering our self image.
It is so easy if you have self esteem but some are ripped from young life and constantly critized and put down till it becomes accepted in their mind. that that person is right.

sometimes even when shown the mirror we see what we want to see 😦
Like Name said, you thought about it, means you might even be ready to look at yourself in that mirror. There are people who don’t even know they’re being shown a mirror. Know what I’m saying?

dear all ,
i think that the mirror shouldnt define who you are and that we are all beautiful in our own distinct way and although the world may not see it. a mirror is not the whole picture it cannot see what you are like on the inside!
you shouldnt be afraid and you should see how perfect you actually are!
its the old saying that it is what is on the inside that counts and the picture is showing you how the world can still only see part of you as you can hide so much !
