The most coveted golden lady knight (Thanks to Reema for pointing it out) is being given out now!! Yes, I am watching 81st Annual Academy Awards live right now!!
And boy! Indians are on a roll!! π
It started with the live coverage of the Red Carpet on E!. It was a splendid delight watching the kids from the movie Slumdog Millionaire adorn the red carpet in their little tuxedos! π Oh! they all looked like little angels!! π Anil Kapoor, Irfan Khan, Dev Patel and Freida Pinto looked at ease! I liked Irfan Khan’s calm and composed conduct, while Anil totally went over the top! π π
Now, here is a list of the wins so far π
Best Documentary Short Film: Smile Pinki
This movie is about Pinki, a girl in rural India whose cleft lip has made her a social outcast, has a chance for a new life when she meets a dedicated social worker.
Our very own Slumdog Millionaire was nominated ten times and has already won 4 5 6 7 oscars so far
Music (Score)
Sound (Mixing)
Cinematography
Writing (Adapted Screenplay)
Update 1: Best Song (Jai Ho won the award)
Update 3: Best Director (Danny Boyle)
Update 4: Best film π π π
It includes two Indians (AR Rahman, The one for sound mixing) π
AR Rahman has won 2 oscars already π And Gulzar for lyrics!! π
Update 2: The Indian troupe led by AR Rahman performed on the songs “Jai Ho” and “O Saya”. It was grandeur at its best! π
I will be updating this blog as we go forward! π

Yeyy for A.R.Rahman though I wish they had pronounced his name correctly.
Hey Nova, that is Oscar, the knight standing on a reel of film holding a crusader’s sword…for more on that http://www.oscars.org/awards/academyawards/about/awards/oscar.html
3 cheers for the winners. Though I personally do think there are better compositions of Rahman than Slumdog Millionaire score!
finally it was our day ( night …whatever ) at the oscars π
three cheers for slumdog millionaire and the entire cast and crew π
