I have been interviewed about 5-6 times before. But, I have never had the privilege of going…
Ahem! So, why do you want to join this company?
Today was the day… when I sat on the other side of the table and interviewed someone and try to see if he fits in with the attitude of the company!
I went through this thing a million times in my head… I even thought of going like Rachel and asking the interviewee on how I did 😉 And I was nervous! As nervous about taking an interview as I have ever been about giving an interview! Immediately before I was to enter the conf room, images of all those interviewers flashed before my eyes, who were sitting in that chair only to humiliate you and did not care if you got selected or not. And I told myself, I will never be such an interviewer! I will try to understand the person and will go with the intention of finding something nice in him.
And I did… Although I noticed some minor confidence issues, which could potentially hamper a managerial role!
Anyways, we are calling him again.. Lets see what happens!
All in all, a great eye-opener for me… the experience was next to surreal! 🙂
😀 😀 😀
Interesting.. I have taken interviews 2 times… and frankly I found giving an interview was a lot lot easier… !!!
seriously.. I mean I have given so many interviews… and thats not even counting the ones I gave as a celebrity and star… !! 😛 😛 😛
**ducks the chappal**
where was i… sigh… never mind… loved this post… and remember be good !!!!!!!
Bang on!! 🙂 Giving interviews are sooooooo much easier 🙂
😛
I know! It is quite a big task, taking an interview. I used to be worried constantly whether I would take the right decision 🙂 But, once the first step is taken, I guess we just start doing it 🙂
‘Immediately before I was to enter the conf room, images of all those interviewers flashed before my eyes, who were sitting in that chair only to humiliate you and did not care if you got selected or not. And I told myself, I will never be such an interviewer!’ – I agree! That is important -why humiliate somebody just because he may not fit into your company? I don’t understand why people do that.. But I have been lucky to not have that experience..
Heyyy!! Thats the main worry – whether u will do justice to the work given to you!!!
I can relate to this though I have never interviewed anyone but have seen Anshu do that and how nervous he was. he interviewed over the phone when he was at home so I could see him biting his nails just before the interview which he usually does when nervous.
I am glad you did well 🙂
Hey!! Yeah, I think such nervousness goes away once you have taken a few interviews and can be sure that you know what you are looking for 🙂
M not sure if I did well or not, my dear! 🙂 Wo to baad me hi pata chalega 🙂
Oh the first time arnd feels so different na! I ws even thinking what if I fail to ask the proper qs et..al 😛
who were sitting in that chair only to humiliate you and did not care if you got selected or not – Bossy ppl who just want to show off they know a lot of things rt! Ridiculous!
nice post 🙂
N I luv the header 😀
Hahahahah ditto my thoughts! 😀
And thanks 🙂
One fine day, Ill also take an intervew…
Amen 🙂
Amen!! 🙂
Haa..haa… i felt the same when i took my first lecture AND first viva voce!! 😀 😀
🙂 🙂 🙂
Interesting. Be confident :). You reached the other side of the table because you deserve it ! 🙂
Thanks dear! 🙂 Its a huge responsibility! 🙂
This was your first time. Don’t worry. It will be easier next time. You can now make your own criterion because sometimes it is good to be different. I don’t usually agree with the cliched selection process and had my own set of questionnaire and ways.
Hopefully! 🙂 Thats a great idea, Solilo 😀
Congrats dear…..yes, it should be really nervous the first time….Well I have never done it before!!!!
Thanks lady 🙂 Yes, it was really a nerve-wrecking moment! And I had been waiting for this one moment for a long time now… 🙂 Do let me know how you felt the first time 🙂
I have never interviewed anyone.. but recently attended this awesome interview!!! I mean.. it was so amazing that i got out with a huge grin pasted on my face!
Wowww! That sounds awesome! 🙂
Hey kudos to u to be in tat zone ..
The approach u started of with will yield u good results due to the positivity it bores and the openess to find something nice in the candidate .. Give a pat on ur shoulder 🙂
The best of a candidate can be really explored if the interviewer is more friendly and makes good converstaions blending casual talks with direct interview related questions
Thank you Madam ji :))) And I completely agree with your views :))
