For me, drinking tea or chai, has a lot associated to it… It is not just a beverage… It symbolises a lot of things in my life…
All through the years, I have come to associate Chai with quality time spent with family every morning and evening, discussing everything under the sun… having that hot cup of tea in that counter next to our class in Nirma… rushing down in breaks to have a hot cuppa chai – we used to call it SP (Special Chai) in that small kitli stall, next to Great Lakes in South Mada street… pondering over life, indulging in intense discussions about society, relationships, and even jobs… with some close friends… 🙂
Chai to me, means a feeling of happiness, togetherness – a feeling of soothing calmness!
I have known a lot of people who love drinking Chai… some passionately want only Chai, while for some anything will do – Chai ya coffee… I belong to the first half… and I still remember some of those friends and moments shared with them, everytime I have chai 🙂
At the same time, I am not addicted to tea… Its not like my day will not start without a cup of tea… I just like having tea with people who like having tea 🙂 Its an occassion and a celebration for me 🙂
It turns into a moment to cherish with a cuppa chai in my hands 🙂
So, what say? Chai ho jaye? 🙂
The morning cup of tea boots up my body for the whole day! The evening one is just for the heck of it 🙂
Hahahhaa 🙂 Its so rejuvenating, isnt it? 😉
i am not a tea person… i like coffee or milk 🙂
U r just like my hubby!!! Ufffff!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Why ufff??? 😛 😛
M trying to convert him and its turning out sooooooooooo tough! 😛
😆
Oh yes! Chai time used to be a time for the family 🙂 Even now when I go home, we all have tea together – I love it!
Here, sadly, we never seem to have the time for a peaceful cup of tea other than at weekends 😦
I sooooooooooooo agree!!! Tea time with family is my most fav time of the day 🙂 Simply love it 🙂 🙂 It feels so relaxed to just be sitting around and sipping tea… just general bakar :)) Just love it :))
After marriage, I dont have tea at all… coz my hubby doesnt have it and i dont feel like having it alone 😦
Lovely header pic, btw! I love your headers!
Thanks Smitha 🙂
Oh.. beautiful!
A cup of tea means many many many things to me 😀
My university life is encircled with the tea…. I pass many times in our tea-stalls… with some other boys.. full of lives… thoughts, ideas… gossips.. my entertainment…..
Quiet people like me in campus, has found my way to be live in zeal… through the tea… chai makes me feel good….
It means many things to me… really…..

Yes,Nova, for me too tea is associated with quality time with family and friends.Having chai in the evenings with some snacks prepared by my nani or my mom used to be a norm in my house.I cherish those moments of togetherness.
Here as well,my husband and I have our morning tea together without fail and make the most of the quality time spent.
Heheheh sure mohtarma 🙂 🙂 🙂
I know what you mean! I m making most of those times in Ahmedabad these days. Once I return to Singapore again, quality tea times will be a thing of the past! 🙂

I prefer coffee over tea any time .. But I guess if coffee is not available, chai will do for me ..
Drinking tea/coffee with family members and discussing whole lot of issues/experiences/views is the most awesome thing .. I just love it ..
🙂 🙂 🙂 Its lovely, innit!?? 🙂 🙂 🙂
I don’t like tea, not even iced tea. I have tasted it only 5-6 times in my life, that too out of courtesy! But I know and understand about what you mean about chatting over tea. I do that over coffee and I too am addicted to neither. 🙂
Awwww!! I know! Some people just cant bear the taste! For me, its the same with coffee… I cant tolerate the smell! 🙂 🙂
I neither have coffee nor tea 😦
But i can give u company 🙂
That sounds good to me 🙂 🙂

as a kid i was told if I will drink tea i will become dark… !! 😛
my mom’s relatives look at tea drinkers as poor people… !! the rich drink milk they made be believe… but no amount of fooling kept me away… and finally my love affair with tea started in 10th standard… !!!!!
on a misty morning or on a cold night… on a dry noon or in office… nothing beats Chai…. and Chai time chats !!!!!! 😀 😀 😀
Lolzz!!! I suppose this is the reason why my mom-in-law hates Tea… and my husband has never tasted one… and doesnt intend to, either 😛
Chai is the best 🙂 🙂 🙂
It indeed is !!! 😀

I am the ultimate tea drinker. Drink 6 a day at the very least. Everyone I visit offers me tea. On my blog I offer advice on making a perfect cup. If u get it right it really hits the spot. Nothing soothes, energizes and rejuvenates like a cup of the old tjai. The best beverage in the whole world!
Hi, We are sat here right now in ICT. We think this website is highly amusing and it put a smile on our faces. However we do think you are slightly strange and slightly sad looking forward to having a cuppa tea. We think you are very wrong calling it CHAI it is called a CUPPA TEA!! We can think of better things to write about you must have really sad lives that revolve around tea. Thankyou very much for taking the time to read our comment! WE HATE CHAI!
Hi Sophie & Hayley, Thank you for your comment and I believe this is your first visit to my blog.. Thanks for visiting 🙂
Now, Chai is an Indian word for the beverage. Tea for me just represents the simpler or lighter things in life… something we fail to enjoy in this fast paced life… kind of reminds me of the poem by William Henry Davies: “No time to stop and stare”!! I sometimes wish we did have time to stop and stare… Life wud be so much simpler then! 🙂
And sorry for the late reply.. I was out playing Tennis… I hope you do come back to read this message…

WE ARE STILL SAT IN ICT AND WAITING FOR A REPLY! QUICK WE DONT HAVE LONG LEFT! THANKYOU
Well we still hate CHAI but we love a good ol’ cuppa tea. See we are from England and we are English so we call it a cuppa tea. CHAI sounds like soup or something. Whoever named it CHAI was probably high on something. You must have a very deep tea cup because you seem to think very deeply about tea and that facinates us. You should talk about Justin Bieber or something and think deeply about him because he is real and alive and he is worth it!! 😀
Hahhhahaa good to know we both love Tea 🙂 I still prefer calling it CHAI, though! 😉
Justin Bieber?
Do you seriously not know who Justin Bieber is?! He is a 16 year singer from Canada and he is wicked. Google him. Just out of question where are you from being as you call it CHAI and not a cuppa tea?
Oh yeah just found out – He is an R&B Singer… not bad! I now remember seeing him on American Idol’s Idol gives back.
I am from India… and we call it CHAI 🙂
We would say Justin Bieber is more of a pop singer tbh. He has wicked hair and a good voice. We recomend you get his album, My Worlds. Justin Bieber also has a love for tea so that’s why we like tea because he does.
What language do you speak in India??
Yeah I have heard his album… We speak Hindi in India.
I know his album is great!
We were just wondering if you have ever tried a cup of coffee, what is the name for coffee in India?? Have you ever tried an English cup of tea?? Thats better than any old Indian crap, Justin Bieber told us.
I don’t know who you think you are but putting any old indian crap is a very racial comment. I am reporting you to imbaciles to the main site and could get banned from here or even prosicuted. Don’t think you will get off this lightly.
Hi, we apologise for that last post. It was someone in our year who decided to comment being as this page has now gone round our whole year group! Sorry about the ‘its better than any old indian crap’
this is the REAL Sophie & Hayley 😀 sorry xx

Excuse me, but who the hell is hi5?? I know it someone from our school, this is a private conversation and you have obviously translated it on google translator. This is our website as we found it during ICT. How did you even find out how to access this site?? We just googled a cup of tea picture to use in our ICT work and this site automatically came up.
Hiya, we are in ICT again and we want a natter about tea again. We tried some nice tea the other day. Twinings with a hint of Lemon. It was lush. Do you have Twinings in India? If you do you should try that one. It’s very nice! Also we have a tea tip. If you have a cold put some hot water in a mug/tea cup and add some freshly suqeezed lemon juice and then a big wedge of it then add some honey. About 1 or 2 large table spoons full and stir it. Drink it and it helps sooth your cold and stuff 😀
Please reply to us NOVA its been days since we last spoke to you. We hope the people that hacked into this account didnt upset you. We are really sorry about this. are you still alive or are you playing a long game of tennis again??
Heyyyyy sorry have been busy with a few things 🙂 🙂 How are u both doing??? 🙂
Hiya, we are so chuffed you replied to us. We were worried LOL. At first we came on this for a joke but we actually love it now. Through reading the post we have found that there is a much deeper meaning to tea or chai and we love it. We make it we love and care everyone morning now!! And we are great thankyou 😀 how are you Nova? xxx
Reading this comment of yours just made my day!! 🙂 M superrrr thrilled that you dont hate “Chai” anymore! 🙂 Yayyy! 🙂
Thank you much for asking, m doing very well… 🙂 And with parents visiting, its just blissful – some truly wonderful moments spent with them 🙂 In fact, just had my cuppa chai with them 🙂 🙂 🙂
Glad to hear your doing fine. We are having a cuppa right now and it’s lush. It’s tetley tea with lots of milk and 2 sugars. What do you have in your tea? And more importantly, do you have some McVities Digestives with it? (and if you didn’t know McVities Digestives a these well nice biscuits that you have with with tea) they are soooooo nice 😀 xxx
