I have always been a fan of Urdu… I think the language is beautiful and is most certainly the best language you can even express your feelings in… While watching Mere Mehboob yesterday, I remembered where and how I had gotten addicted to this language. It was with this very movie, which I had seen eons ago!
It was then and its today, my love for Urdu has only increased with each passing day…
I hope u guys arent bored yet.. But, M on the roll… one of my all time favs – here comes a Rafi-Lata duet… They weave magic into the otherwise simple tune… The lyrics rock!
Why such morose songs all of a sudden you may think. I am a boring person anyways, so have always loved morose songs more than any other type! 🙂
Lyrics:
Urdu is one of the most beautiful languages in the world. You have kavitayein in hindi, poetries in Englidh, but no language in the world captures human emotions better than Urdu. It gives words not just meaning, but every single word is so full of emotions – u can feel it! No wonder then, that urdu is called the “Lover’s favorite language” 🙂
I love the language, and though I am a naive at understanding its intensity, I do admire it a lot… One of my favorite lines of Urdu..
unniswi sadi (19th century) kaa lucknow , hindustan ki ganga jamuni tehjeeb ka gehwara tha lucknow us tehjeeb ka dil tha , aur us dil ki dhadkan thi umrao jaan adaa. Magar sitam yeh ki us dhadkan ke seene mein bhi ek dhadakta hua dil tha jiski awaaz uske jiteji kisine na suni. umaraao jaan ki har gazal unhi dhadkano ki sadaa hai, usi dil ki pukaar hai
~ Javed Akhtar
No wonder then that the effect that Ghazals have, nothing can come even near it…
