One of the most beautiful melodies ever by Lata herself! The song actually takes you to another world. The lyrics are beautiful!
Lyrics:
Yes, indeed! it’s so dreamy, this song… specially the night scene they’ve shot is out of the world! That’s during my favorite stanza (notice how she starts it off differently than all the others? its awesome!!) is the last one “yeh raat yeh khamoshi”. And the picturization and music is just perfect… the misty lake, silhouettes, the hues of the setting sun, and the river are just too pretty but definitely not more pretty than the damsel herself. Even in that jhabba and lungi outfit she looks like a million bucks! (Pooja Bhatt doesn’t even come close in DHKMN :P) Thanks for putting this one up.
Btw, I absolutely love the music that plays when Raj Kumar comes riding on a horse back from work to his tent at the end of the day. And I think Meena Kumari acts as if she is still asleep. Do you remember it?
@Kanan: Its so nice to know someone who shares our interest in songs! 🙂 Hey I so agree with you! Yeh raat yeh khamoshi… is one of my fav stanzas in the song! And she does dazzle in that lungi… looks so pretty! But then she has looked pretty in almost the entire movie! 🙂
Yap absolutely!!! Its at that time he sees her legs and thinks, oh my God, there she is!!! So damn romantic! Imagine someone falling in love with someone’s legs… 😀
